Absence of Product Process Derails Client's Development Program

Problem: Client's IT group was unsuccessful in two attempts to develop in-house system to support client's new business initiative. Business users claimed each attempt failed to satisfy its requirements, whereas IT countered that business users' requirements were constantly changing and neither side wanted to cooperate on third attempt.
Insight: IT group lacked an effective product process which rendered both business users and IT developers unable to address problems at various stages of the product development cycle. As a result, user requirements were not complete, validated or documented and IT developers were constantly frustrated.
Solution: Accendo identified user requirements, produced a comprehensive Product Functional Specification and installed formal product process to implement the PFS.
Results: IT developers began building an internal system that business users validated and approved. Client re-engaged Accendo to manage product development effort and Accendo helped client launch successful in-house system.
